Maritim mudflat tour
This mudflat walk along the guide dam offers you a wonderful view of the Elbe estuary and the nearby ship traffic. We’ll follow the dam with you all the way to rescue beacon 1. Here you’ll find the most beautiful sand flat in Döse. We cross small tributaries of the tidal creek named “Kinderbalje” and discover seashells that are rarely or never found in areas close to the beach. With a lot of luck, we might see a catshark or an octopus in the tidal creek. During the walk we’ll tell you why the dam was built and how the mudflats, the tidal creeks, the river Elbe and the shipping have changed since its construction. Duration: 2 to 2.5 hours, suitable for children aged 8 and up. The maritime mudflat tour is offered in Döse.
